DIY Cinnamon Wrapped Candles

DIY Cinnamon Wrapped Candle

It’s December and I’m kinda in shock to be honest. I blinked and it’s almost a new year. I’m going to TRY very hard to slow down and enjoy this month that naturally happens to be full of social gatherings and soirees. It’s no secret that I do love a good party and details. I love details. Parties are made in the details. It’s those little extra touches that make a big difference. They don’t however have to break the bank.

Beautiful on a budget. It’s completely possible. Take these candles for instance. They’re made using just 3 things that you might even have around the house: Cinnamon sticks, candles and twine. A little green goes a long way here. You can buy inexpensive candles from the Dollar Store and pick up cinnamon sticks in bulk. Twine well you can get a gazillion yards for practically pennies.

You can make these candles in various sizes and heights for a dramatic holiday centerpiece. TIP: Think about personalizing each candle with your guests names on a hanging tag that they can take home with them. A sweet smelling token from your evening (happies as I like to refer to them).

I will say that it helps if you have another set of hands to help out during assembly. I made these with my son who got a kick out of the “sticks” I was putting around the candle. He held the twine around the candle while I inserted the cinnamon sticks around the outside of the candle. A few wraps around with twine and a couple of knots later you have a rustic regal centerpiece.

They also would make lovely gifts that smell good. Too good to eat though, don’t try that that would be a bad idea.

I’m pretty sure that cheap candles at dollar store should never be burned as the wicks probably contain lead and the wax other carcinogoeus elements
