Buttermilk Biscuits and Sausage Gravy
Next week it’s back to school for my kids. I! Am! Thrilled! You can probably tell by the exclamation marks. It’s been a long summer people. No judging. What I’m not looking forward to is waking up early after a summer of lazy mornings. I’m not a morning person. Never have been and I’m thinking that’s probably never going to change.
Thank goodness for coffee is all I can say. For me though, it’s important to get the kids off with a full belly. This biscuits and sausage gravy is a shortcut breakfast that can be prepped the night before and then just heated up in the morning. That’s definitely a good thing.
Mornings can be mayhem for many moms – especially during back to school time. In fact, according to the Johnsonville Sausage Report nearly half of moms (40%) say that mornings can be so chaotic that everyone in the family needs to fend for themselves for breakfast. And what many don’t realize is that powering up with protein as part of a balanced breakfast can help you feel full for longer.
Johnsonville is helping moms ‘hack’ morning time starting with a new (faster) approach to cooking a real, protein-packed breakfast – new fully cooked breakfast sausage. Just pop in the microwave for 30 seconds and they are ready to eat. Three new varieties include Original breakfast sausage, Vermont Maple Syrup and Turkey breakfast links. Options you know how much we love them!
