Charlie aka Chuck is our rescued Beagle Hound. He’s the most laid back dog on the planet until you open the back door and then it’s like he’s drank a gallon of energy drinks and off he goes into the woods to chase deer and squirrels and all the other animals that’s hell never ever catch. I do have to admire his persistence though. OR when it’s time for a trip to the vet or the groomer. Then he tucks tail and becomes a nervous Norman.
You can see he was thrilled when I told him it was time to go for some doggie salon services. But it was desperately needed. DESPERATELY. You see he doesn’t really care much for baths so I’m not the best about it. I know, the shame. They recently opened a brand spanking new Petco near my house and we were serendipitously offered the opportunity to try out their grooming services. I practically heard the choir singing.
I’ve shopped at Petco before, pet food, toys and the like but had not used their grooming services. Actually it never really registered to me that they offered those services so this was a nice little eye opener that they offered these services.
I made the appointment for first thing in the morning when the store opened. Chuck was REALLY nervous and the groomer was incredibly patient and kind. She introduced herself, bent down and gave Chuck a once over, part of their 7 point check system.
Every grooming service starts with a visual and physical screening of your pet. They make sure nothing looks or feels abnormal.

Then she let me know that it would be approximately one to one and half hours and that they would call me when he was done. Off they went. True to their word they contacted me an hour and a half later and I went to pick up our little regal Beagle.
He was happy, squeaky clean and smelled amazing. The groomer presented me with his written check point and a little baggie of treats. How cute right?
All in all, it was a seamless and painless experience with Petco Grooming, all the way from making the appointment to dropping off and picking up. We’ll definitely be back!

Our dog actually threw up on my fancy shoes just before leaving for a fancy dinner.

A messy pet moment? We have three large dogs that all weigh close to 100 pounds each. They think the are lap dogs. There isn’t a moment when they aren’t messy. But they love to get pampered at the groomers.

Omg we recently adopted two puppies and this would be awesome!

I’ve got a “messy pet moment.” When I was a girl both of the family dogs got in the “family way.” They were outdoor dogs and were not housebroken. It was the middle of winter, and we were afraid for the coming pups. When the time came close the prospective moms were moved inside to the basement. After the pups were born, we had 16 dogs relieving themselves at will in our basement for weeks

Our white malamute picks up the most awful grease on the railroad tracks on his walks every now and then. Tough to clean out of his fur.

Chuck is such a cutie! I’m sure he enjoyed all of his treats! We have two rescue dogs and a Petco gift card would be fabulous! Thanks for the opportunity!

What a cute little rescue pup! I have one too, I just don’t know what breed she is. But I do know she would look too cute with a fresh grooming! Thanks for the opportunity!

Charlie is such a sweetie! Coco wouldn’t want to leave Petco, he loves attention from wherever he can get it. Our vet loves him so much he gets on the floor with him and rolls around a bit before we leave. But it would be nice to get that lab stink out of him, it just won’t seem to wash out! He’s a stinker!

My dog was sick one night and throwing up/pooping EVERYWHERE. I felt so sorry for him.

This isn’t a grooming issue but sometimes when I organize my desk, I’ll sit on the floor to go through all my papers. Trixie, my Cairn Terrier will then find a suitable pile (one that has been neatly arranged) and plop herself right on top of it. It’s hard to get annoyed when they do things that are so innocently adorable!

Our Beagle mix dog used to roll in dead fish, which he thought smelled like doggy aftershave!

One of my cats once destroyed a very fuzzy acrylic mousie on the bed. Could not get it unfuzzy for months!
