This is a sponsored by America’s Farmers Community Outreach programs, but views and thoughts are my own.
Last month I shared why I’m My Town Proud. I’m sharing more about this campaign called My Town. It’s a celebration of the people, places and stories that make small towns great through a series of video content that highlights the innovative and altruistic nature of rural communities. I’m pro small town if you couldn’t tell. I absolutely have a giant case of wanderlust. I love traveling (I’ve been all over the country and world) to experience other cities and cultures but I could never imagine myself living anywhere but in a small town.
I especially love fall in rural America. When there are so many local festivals and fairs. Where you can jump on a hayride (pulled by a sexy tractor), pick a pumpkin from the patch, have your face painted and if you’re lucky, do a little dancing under the stars to a local band. All while being surrounded by people from your community. Friends, family and good food. Hometown food. I’m smiling just thinking about it. It has that effect on you.
And I can’t forget about the Haunted Forests, Corn Mazes and Turkey Shoots coming up. If you’ve never experienced a down home celebration you should get to the nearest small town as soon as you can. I’m proud of my small town! I think everyone should experience it at least once. Salt of the earth people. That’s what I’ve found.
The Monsanto Fund also celebrates communities and invests to make them even more vibrant for future generations through its America’s Farmers Community Outreach programs – it puts the farmer in the center of the story. In rural communities throughout America, farmers not only provide food and fuel, but they are also pivotal characters in their communities – often serving as the backbone of the areas in which they reside. Through the Grow Communities, Grow Rural Education and Grow Ag Leaders programs, The Monsanto Fund, with the help of local farmers, celebrates the accomplishments throughout communities with grants to help them continue to grow and thrive.
That’s why I’m #MyTownProud . I’d love to hear why you’re proud of your town. Share what makes you #MyTownProud on social media for a chance to have your posts shared on AmericasFarmers.com or the America’s Farmers social channels.
