Making infused vodkas couldn’t be easier. And I mean that literally. All you need is vodka and your choice of flavorings. Yep, hard stuff. Go ahead and pick up a few bottles of your favorite vodka the next time you’re out and about and get to experimenting with flavors. Not only are they great to have on hand these also make great hostess gifts, housewarming gifts, un-birthday gifts, birthday gifts. You get the picture. If you’re super crafty (I am not, Pinterest just likes to make me feel like I am sigh) you could make your own printable labels to go with. How fancy is that?
Since apples happen to be falling off trees at the moment they’re a perfect option and they also happen to be perfect paired with cinnamon. And vodka. You can make as much or as little of this recipe as you like. The longer you leave those apples and cinnamon socializing with the vodka the stronger the flavor will be. It doesn’t take a math genius to know that the less time means more subtle flavor. We like options.
The longer it sits the darker the color will get. Because I know you’re visual like me, the shot glass pictured above has been mingling in my cupboard for about 4 months now and is just about perfect according to my taste buds. My taste buds also like it served on the rocks.
How do you like yours?

If this is half as good as your Homemade Amaretto, this is “to die for”. Can’t wait to make it!

Could you infuse larger amounts of vodka at one time and still have the same results?
Paula says
Hi Erin, you can absolutely double or triple the recipe : )
Candace says
How long do you let the apples and cinnamon sticks stay in the bottle? Indefinitely? Does it get better the longer the flavoring sits in?
Paula says
Hi Candace,
The apples will stay preserved so you can leave them as long as you would like and yes the flavor gets stronger as it sits. Enjoy!

AWESOMENESS!!!

I’m doing this this weekend. Done deal.
Would ground cinnamon work in a pinch if I didn’t mind the speckles in my vodka?
Paula says
Hi Shannon, I’ve never tried it with ground cinnamon. If you do try it be sure to let us know how it turned out.
che says
just a question , what do you do with fruit when you finish infused the flavor?
Paula says
Hi Che! You can leave the fruit in the jar or you can discard them when the flavor is where you’d like it to be.

My question is could I use cinnamon oil or a cinnamon liquor mixed with vodka?
