Front Door Decor

Front Door Decor www.bellalimento.com

It is finally spring! I can’t tell you how excited I am for sunshine, my garden and flowers! I’ve slowly been spring cleaning the inside of our house and now it’s time to focus on the outside. My front yard is let’s just say very natural. Our lot is extremely shady due to the amount of trees (practically a forest) we have. Trees mean lots of leaves to rake and limbs to pick up.  On top of the piles of leaves and limbs, we also many many LARGE rocks (boulder size) peppered throughout the front yard. I’m thinking they were too large to move when the lot was being graded and someone thought they looked good (read not me). Sadly because of the shade we don’t have a ton of grass in the front yard besides a small patch by the mailbox. Cutting down trees (to allow more sunshine) is expensive so we’re looking into other ways to add pops of color and improve our curb appeal.

Our front door was a way to do that. We loaded up in the suburban and took a trip to our local LOWE’S HOME IMPROVEMENT. I knew we wanted to add flowers and light to an otherwise dark walking path to our front. I found those gorgeous ESPRESSO OUTDOOR CONCRETE POTS and knew they would make a beautiful anchor.

We added pops of color with these beautiful pink and yellow flowers.

We also purchased this 8 PACK RUST SOLAR POWERED LED LIGHTS. They require NO wiring and were a cinch to put together. They are 6 times brighter than standard solar lights are environment friendly – powered by the sun. Have a photocell control – automatically turns on at dusk and off at dawn with a long 8 hour run time. Plus rechargeable batteries are  included.

I think we’re off to a good start don’t you? I love the pop of color we’ve added to our front door area with the wreath, planters and flowers. The lighting to our walkway really makes our entrance shine at night.

Additionally we also purchased  SCOTT’S EZ SEED  in an attempt to try and grow grass. I couldn’t pass it up when I saw on the bag that it is GUARANTEED to grow anywhere! I’ll be giving an update on that as it grows. My yard will definitely put that to the test.

We are in the exact same place! We just moved in and the landscaping was terrible. So we added some really bright bushes – orange rockets – and then some pretty white flowers. But I love your planters! Beautiful!

Isn’t that just amazing how a few simple touches can transform a living space. I often say that paint is the best and most inexpensive way to transform a room. The entryway is so lovely!

Your yard sounds an awful lot like mine. We have a ton of mature oaks in the yard so we don’t have any sun for a decent lawn or garden. I love what you’ve done with your area though. The enhancements are awesome.
