DIY Vanilla Spiced Bourbon

I should probably live in Kentucky with my over the top LOVE for bourbon. I mean it’s only logical. It’s where it’s made and it has some of the best countryside I’ve seen. It’s gorgeous. Doesn’t hurt it has a gazillion barns speckled throughout and I’ve got a hot and heavy thing for those too. Barns, bourbon, and my bike. I’m SO IN. Yes, I big puffy heart you and your bourbon Kentucky. People always ask me what my favorite bourbon is. I have a few that I adore but honestly it just depends on my mood as to what I’m reaching for.

I’m typically a neat pour. What’s that? Just pour the bourbon in the glass and slide it over. Easy peasy, yet you’d be surprised how many times I have to explain that to waitstaff when I’m out (insert eye roll here).

Sometimes though I like to shake things up (might even throw and ice cube in there if I’m feeling crazy), and well let’s be really honest not everyone likes a straight up stiff drink and that’s okay. This spiced bourbon is the perfect solution. It’s quick, easy (because who has time for complicated these days? Not me, fo sho) and it doesn’t require you to use a high end bourbon (bonus points because y’all some of it can get pricey). Save those for straight special occasion pours.

This DIY spiced version would be perfect served over ice to sip on in front of the fire this fall and winter and even better for gift giving.
