Christmas Sangria.
Happy Christmas Eve. I hope you’re all set with your preparations (I JUST finished, I know, thank goodness I’m good under pressure. I prefer that to procrastinator.) and are settling in to enjoy time with your family and friends. To celebrate finishing wrapping that final gift, I’ve made a pitcher of festive Christmas Sangria that’s sitting in the fridge, letting flavors mix and mingle a wee smidge until it it’s completely chilled.
Then we’ll be pouring up glasses and getting our Merry on. Sangria is a great wine based punch if you will. It’s served all year long just with different fruits and wines. For this seasonal version I used leftover cranberries from Thanksgiving. Yes, they keep in the fridge that long. Along with apples, rosemary and cinnamon. All things that I had on had.

Christmas Sangria.
I love how the fresh rosemary balances out the sweetness. I’m personally not a fan of super sweet drinks so I’ve only used 1/4 cup sugar in this recipe. If you like your drinks a little more on the sweeter side, no worries, feel free to adjust to your liking. I’ve paired this one with a Pinot Grigio that I had on hand as well. I’m all about using what’s in the house when possible.
Besides, have you been out in the wild today. It’s a mad house. I had to get milk and I literally waited almost 30 minutes to check out. So yes, I’m going to be pouring a nice big stemless glass of this beauty here momentarily.
I simply sliced the apples but if you’d like them in smaller bite sized pieces feel free to cube the apples. It’s all about what YOU like. You know how much we like to have options. But the fruit is part of the experience and you’re supposed to eat it. I consider it the healthy portion of the recipe.
Cheers to a very Merry Christmas (as always please remember to drink responsibly)

Is the grape juice red / white? Just wondering if the colour is from juice or cranberries?
Paula says
Hi Kaz, the color comes from the cranberries.
