In case you haven’t noticed, it’s football season! Who’s excited? From the looks of all my social feeds, a lot of y’all are over the field goal about it (did I get that reference right? lol). I’m going to be honest, I could take or leave the game itself, but I am excited for game day foods and get-togethers! It’s always about the food, c’mon. You can’t have a game day gathering without good food. That would be cruel.
Finger foods are my favorite go-tos for game day spreads. Like wings!
When I’m homegating (you know like tailgating, but at home so we’re calling it homegating, pretty clever right) I keep things easy with Tyson® chicken products. Specially marked Tyson chicken (fresh/refrigerated/frozen) is raised with no antibiotics ever, they have no preservatives and no added hormones or steroids, which means they are minimally processed and have no artificial ingredients. That makes me feel good about what I’m serving and eating! They are also available at any Kroger or Kroger division stores.
For this spread I picked up a bag each of:
–Tyson® Any’tizers® hot wings buffalo style – chicken wing sections coated with a flavorful hot, tangy sauce.
–Tyson® Any’tizers boneless chicken WYNGZ* – buffalo style. They’re breaded with white meat chicken and glazed in a spicy buffalo wing sauce.
–Tyson crispy chicken strips – Fully cooked crispy chicken breast strip fritters with rib meat. Made with white meat chicken.
This covers my bases with chicken. I’ve got chicken on the bone, boneless chicken WYNGZ*, and crispy chicken strips. Something for every taste palette.
Now for the easy part, I simply arranged the Tyson no antibiotics ever chicken products onto a rimmed baking sheet, and into the oven they went (baked according to package directions). I love the resealable bags, this way if I’m cooking only a portion of the bag I can securely place the rest of the package back into the freezer without having to transfer them to a new freezer bag. Winning.
While they were baking away, that freed me up to prepare the accoutrements. You can’t have wings without carrot sticks and celery. That’s gotta be a rule somewhere. Have you ever had chicken wings without them? I can’t think of a time when I did.
We need something to dip the wings and crudité into. I mean what’s chicken wings without a dip. Especially spicy food. You need a little something creamy and cooling to counter balance the heat. They’re HOT wings after all. The go to is ranch and I have a great homemade ranch recipe, but today I mixed up a quick Blue Cheese and Bacon Dip to go with the Tyson chicken products. It was the perfect accompaniment to the BUFFALO style wings that have a nice kick in the pants to them.
When you’re ready to throw a game day gathering this football season, make it easy on yourself, consider picking up a few bags of Tyson no antibiotics ever chicken products!
