How To Make Balsamic Vinaigrette.
The new year is almost here and with the new year comes resolutions and/or goals. Eating more healthy foods (aka loosing a few pounds from the holidays) seems to top most people’s list. Including mine.
Salads immediately come to mind. Typically you won’t find me eating many salads. I’m just not a big salad fan. But on the rare occasion I do have one, it has to be dressed with balsamic vinegar. Period.
Did you know that you can make your own vinaigrette dressing? You’ll never have to buy another bottle of dressing once you find out how easy and inexpensive it is to make your own.
A few really good ingredients and a blender are all you need. Okay not totally true, the blender is just really handy but a little muscle and a whisk can do the job too.
I plan on making a few of these salads in jars to have in the fridge to try and help me stay on track.

This is my go to dressing 99% of the time. So simple and so delicious. I’m always shocked when people don’t have balsamic vinegar on hand, it’s a definite staple over here!

Love it! I have never bought salad dressing because making your own is just so simple and delicious. Here’s my (even easier) version: prepare salad with all ingredients in the bowl. Drizzle a generous portion of EVOO on top, then drizzle with vinegar of choice (I prefer balsamic) and salt and pepper to taste. Toss with salad servers or clean hands (my grandmother would say that this is how you put the love in it), and that’s it. No extra dishes and simple as can be. Buon appetito!

My mom always made a lot of salad dressings when I was growing up, but we’d always have a bottle of ranch in the refrigerator for my brothers. I always preferred the homemade though!! When I lived in France, my host mom made salad dressing like you and I was HOOKED. LOVE your picture of the ingredients in the measuring spoons, LOVE LOVE LOVE!
