Refrigerator Bread and Butter Pickles.

Homemade Bread and Butter Refrigerator Pickles

I have a lot of little quirks with food. For instance, I’m not a fan of cucumbers (I will totally pick them out if they’re in let’s say a salad) but I’m all about the PICKLES. I know, I know, it makes ZERO sense but try telling that to my taste buds. My all time favorite pickle is the bread and butter pickle.

My Mom has made Bread and Butter pickles every single year she’s had a garden and that’s like well my whole life. Strange name for a pickle yeah? I can’t imagine eating them on buttered bread but whatever floats your boat.

My Mom does two things differently when she makes her pickles, she likes to slice hers and can them. Seeing as how I have little to no patience I’m all about that refrigerator quick pickle and the spear. Most definitely the spear. But then again why choose, just double the recipe and make one sliced and one speared. Problem solved.

They’re not called a quick pickle for nothing. You’ll be amazed how easy these are to make and you’ll thank yourself for having them at the ready in the fridge. They’re perfect for snacking and of course to go with all those burgers you’re grilling up this summer.

Our refrigerator pickles will last approximately 2 weeks chilling out in the fridge. However, in the summertime mine don’t last anywhere near that long. Perhaps we’re just pickle fiends. Could be. Okay we totally are. There I said it. I, Paula, am a pickle fiend. Just go with it.
