Orange TiramisuOrange Tiramisu

Tiramisu is my dessert kryptonite. I seriously can NOT say no to this dessert. Ever. I curse my sweet tooth. But it is, what it is, so I don’t fight it. I just give in and then exercise. Pretty much the story of my life. Which is okay, unless I eat the entire pan. Which is why I typically like to make this pick me up dessert in individual portions.

It helps keep my lack of willpower in check, aka not eating the entire pan when no one is around. But sometimes there might not be time to individually layer jars (because let’s be honest that does add to prep time) in walks your square pan.

Orange Tiramisu

Tiramisu means “pick me up” in Italian. It’s just that a pick me up. You really can’t be unhappy when you’re eating this. Well until it’s gone and then that’s completely understandable. We’ve given the traditional Tiramisu a seasonal twist by adding ORANGE.

Not just the zest, oh no, we’ve swapped out the Amaretto for Cointreau as well, upping that orange ante. Go big or go home yeah?

Orange Tiramisu

A few tips: It’s best if you make this the night before. It’s creamy dreaminess comes from the mascarpone cheese. You’ll want to seek this out or even make it yourself, just don’t use cream cheese. It’s NOT the same y’all. You’ll also want to make sure your coffee is at room temperature before getting started with the assembly.

Don’t SOAK the lady fingers, just dab or brush them. A little goes a long way here. No need to worry, we’ve got you covered. We’ve got step by step instructions with photos (because let’s face it who reads everything these days, just show me the money photos) over on the KitchenAid blog.

I love tiramisu but I might love it even more if scented with orange. Now I wish I had a slice right now!
