WHAT INGREDIENTS DO I NEED TO MAKE A CLASSIC NEGRONI COCKTAIL ?
You’ll need the following ingredients to make this drink plus an orange peel garnish.
- Campari – a liqueur, obtained by infusing herbs and fruit in alcohol and water. It is a bitters, characterized by its dark red color.
- SWEET vermouth – Sweet vermouth typically comes from Italy. It is as the name suggests, sweet, but also spiced and herbal.
- Gin
TIP: For the ORANGE PEEL GARNISH use a vegetable peeler to render thin cuts from the aromatic peel layer of the orange.
WHICH GIN SHOULD I USE?
Juniper-led London Dry style gins work best. You want to look you’re for something that will stand up to the strong, bitter flavors of Campari, as well as the herbal vermouth.
WHAT VERMOUTH IS BEST?
Look for a red, sweet, Italian-style vermouth, preferably with enough spice to hold up against the Campari.
